Listen again: Greg Philo on Current Politics

A few weeks I attended Greg Philo’s talk at the university of Glasgow on the politics of Jeremy Corbyn and Bernie Sanders. The lecture hall was packed and Mr Philo, as always, gave an incredibly passionate speech on inequality, current politics, the neoliberal legacy and the power of media over what is discussed in politics. He touched, among other things, on the dynamics between increasing job insecurity, the role of automatisation in the labour market and emerging ideologies. He urged sociologists/social scientist to question and reflect on these issues and to challenge existing structures and the ways societies are organised. You can hear his talk here:
